Jesus, then and now

Jesus in the manger lay
He came for us on Christmas Day
He slept sweetly in the hay
Now, He hears us when we pray

Today, he reigns in Heaven above
With His heart so full of love
He sends his spirit as a dove
And he fills us up with love

As a candle, he lights us up
And He overflows our cup
He is so good and gracious
And to our hearts, most precious

We behold Him in splendor bright
As shepherds did that holy night
May He come in power and might
And make all our troubles light

You are more than a ghost in a white linen sheet
You guide us on our way to God
